Seat Belt Analysis

The unrestrained driver of the Jeep was fatally injured in this side impact collision when he was ejected from his vehicle.

  • What was the impact severity of the collision?

  • What was the mechanism for the injury?

  • What was the motion of the occupant's body during the crash?

  • Would the occupant have sustained the same injuries had he been properly restrained?

To address these questions, we thoroughly inspected and documented the accident site and vehicles involved. The accident was reconstructed via computer simulation to determine the motions of the vehicle and driver during the collision sequence.
